BPS vs all other pumps

SO after putting jacobs shotgun on layaway I find myself questioning my decision. I bought him the Browning BPS Micro. Like I said the the previous post; he's going to be a better man than his dad so he should shoot a better gun. But after shelling out all but 100.00 of the cost; I am wondering if it is really that much better than A Mossberg Bantam. What do you guys think?

I would think a Browning would be better than a Mossberg anyday. IMO

I guess I should have phrased it differently. Is the BPS worth over twice the price of a Mossberg Bantam? Is it really that much better than the bantam or any pump for that matter?

Who really cares if it is better or not. As long as you are happy with your purchase for your upcoming hunter, who cares what anyone else thinks.

Browning BPS shotguns are probably one of the best pump guns ever built in my opinion. Hope that made ya feel better. ;)

I used to own a bantam and it is a fine gun for youth model at a decent price. That being said, It ain't no BROWNING;). The BPS is as nice as what the remington wingmaster used to be.

In technical terms I would say a BPS is a pretty version of the Benelli Nova.

Not to mention the BPS will hold it's value better than mossberg 500. If you paid over twice what a mossberg 500 costs I think you may have over paid though. For that kind of money you could have got a base line auto.

I looked at one for my girlfriend last year and it was only about 400 or so.

Unless you got the trap model?

Paul thanks for the info. I probably did over pay. Bantams sell for around 200.00 around here. I bought the BPS Micro for about 460.00. That was the cheapest I could find it around Columbus.

BPS for sure.. I own 2 of them.

Check your local Gander Mtn... I know they have one in Columbus OH... (you said Columbus.. I assumed you meant OH [8D])

They sell them fore $400..

But as a 2nd thought.. most kids don't take care of their things.. esp in today's times... not saying that yours don't.. but alot of today's youth have no respect for anything..

so the Mossberg might be a better choice.. or a Remington 870 Youth or Junior model.. Since it willmaybe neglected and abused anyways

KBacon, You make a good point. yes I was talking about Columbus Ohio. I did buy the gun at Gander Mountain. I get a ton of gift cards from there for X-mas every year. For some reason the Micro sells for more than the standard BPS. Go figure. I guess they know they have us by the short ones with the youth guns.
