i got that ar15

my grandfather gave me a DPMS LOPRO 16 w/ bull barrel.. was wondering what kind of rails i could mount on it.. yes, i know it's a bull barrel but i like the bull barrel feature.. i'll prob get some quick disconnect mounts from larue tactical and get a red dot scope for building entry/executive protection and a typical hunting 6x24 scope for varmints.. but, i still need a light and want a vertical grip.. so, can you guys help me out w/ the rail system?? i'm confused as to if i can put a normal rail system on a gun w/ a bull barrel..

Put on a quad rail. Many different companies make them for the bull barrels. And then get either a Surefire or Streamlight light on it.

a link to a rail system for a bull barrel would be GREAT.. can't seem to find one, i've even googled it.. don't really need a quad rail i don't think.. anything more than a light and vertical grip.. maybe a laser.. is worthless to me.. i don't need all the un necessary stuff.. i'm using it for patrol and executive protection, as simple as possible isa GREAT thing if you ever get shot at/need to shoot at a target that walks talks and has a family....

Look up yankee Hill manufacturing for a rail and whatever else you need.

www.midwayusa.com I'm pretty sure they have them. I know I've saw them, I can't think of the brand right now...when I think of it I'll let you know.

thanks for the suggestions cma, to say i chase accuracy is an understatement.. i'll prob get out my reloading manual starting w/ 69 grain bullets start w/ the lowest load and wrk my way up to the hottest, in half grain increments... just to see which shoots best.. OR. if ic an just buy something that'll shoot .5 moa factory i'll use that.. i hear the weapon is capable of that and most of the guys i talk to w/ the low pro use the black hills stuff... shoot me a pm cma... i doubt i wil go with a diff set of spring/trigger just for liability reasons in court if i kill somebody... could be bad thing in civil court, maybe i'll never find out... what type of QD mounts do you suggest.. i hear larue tactical makes the best.. also i've thought leupold may make some very good ones...

That Larue mount is a dandy, but it is very expensive. I got my new one this week also. I went with the Burris Ultra High rings for $49. I like the rings. They are heavy duty, and have six screws on each ring. Tom.

I've been using A.R.M.S. #22 rings for quite a few years now. They are high quality rings, and hold the zero perfectly, no matter how many times I go from my EOTech to my Nikon scope.

If you ever get shot at your arms are going to get tired from holding up that monstrosity of an AR. Bull barrel, rails, laster, vertical grip. Make sure you aren't anywhere near water you'll drown if you fall in.

Good Luck

Tom
