mossberg 835 or 935 all the way. super quick and easily taken apart and will last a real long time, even in super harsh weather.

A remington 1100 is one of the finest guns i've ever handled in my hands. The Benelli is worth the money however if you have the money. but the 1100s arent cheap either. I'd take an 11-87 in a heartbeat as well. They can be had at walmart for under 600 in camo finish.

I've got an 11-87 and I love it! Great gun, but buy some extra O-rings. I've never had the gun fail or not load, but for some reason I seem to break them when I'm taking the gun down to clean.

Try to hold and shoot all of them, and here’s a good tip. Pick up the shotgun and point it toward the ground with your arms hanging, look at a target (like a wall mounted deer head), close your eyes and aim the gun at the target, or where you think the target is. How close are you when you open your eyes? You may be amazed at how much closer one gun is than the other. The one that is closest fits you better, and is most likely the one to buy.

Good luck,
KP

Also, there is an interesting thread in this same forum about the 935 jamming. I'd take a look.

The actual brand of gun is something that you are probably going to have to ultimately choose on your own. I think all the guns mentioned will serve you well. I personally have no problems with the Mossbergs...although they are definitely not as "purty" as some others.

Have you ruled out a 10ga? I've seen them in action on turkeys...and was absolutely floored. I know they're awesone with steel shot, too. After patterning and shooting a ton of shotguns...those in 10 ga just seem to be a little more consistent. In my opinion, the larger casing allows for better balance between powder and shot in those heavy loads.
