David Tubb Final Finish Bore Conditioning Ammo
Has any one tried this conditioning ammo and how did it work for you? Will it void your factory warranty?

RE: David Tubb Final Finish Bore Conditioning Ammo
I don't know about voiding warranty but I have seen and heard mixed results about this product/method. I guess I'm just too old fashoned, but I ALWAYS lap barrels by hand, and have done so in this manner for the last 25+ years. When lapping a barrel by hand,I can seem to feel every burr and "tight" spot, and this procedure has NEVER failed to give me positive results.

RE: David Tubb Final Finish Bore Conditioning Ammo
I'm not having trouble with my gun. I bought a new Kimber Montana 300 wsm and have been reading about breaking the barrel in. There site says this is an easier way to break a new barrel in.

RE: David Tubb Final Finish Bore Conditioning Ammo
A fine gun like the Kimber, don't do it. I bought tubbs bullets and reloaded for them to smooth out a bore, and ended up littlerly ruining a bore and had to rebarrel a gun. some had better results but I know I wouldn't risk it for a nice new gun.

RE: David Tubb Final Finish Bore Conditioning Ammo
I would not use final finish as a break-in substitute, that is not what the product is really intended for.
I have used the product on a match barrel that needed a little work and it performed as advertised and was happy with the results. For barrel break-in stick to standard break-in procedures. |
