remington 7600?

Is this a reliable gun? I was hoping to dump the 710 and get this gun.

I have never owned one, but, i haven't heard a bad thing about them and they seem to be pretty accurate.

Yes. For some reason, the 760-series of Remington rifles seems alot better than the semiautos they make which use the same parts, except for the substitution of gas operation in lieu of the pump action parts.....

yeah i hear that the semi-autos jam a lot and that the pumps are more accurate than the semis. that's why i am considering the 7600 and plus the fact that i am a lefty and that i can shoot left handed on this rifle. i also like the way it looks.

Yep, pumps are more accurate, plus, the 7600 is a great rifle.

yeah and they're pretty cheap too. i believe a synthetic is $430 and wood is $530. i may be wrong. but i believe that is what they are on wal-marts website.

A few years back (well more than a few now that I think about it) my wife bought me a Rem. 7600 oump in .35 whelen for Christmas. Yhat made the gun special enough for me. Then the first fall I huntd with it I shot a Typical B&C book,white-tail buck with it. I have just shot rem. factory ammo from it and it is not a "tack driver" but plenty accurate for hunting big game with.

I am too a lefty and as a result the 760 series was whatI cut my teeth on for a big game rifle. Have owned3and still own the first one I bought 7600/270win. They all have been very dependable guns and the 270 shoots exceptional. All mine were plenty accurate for hunting. 7600 is never a bad choice IMHO.

That said youreally owe it to yourself to try aleft handed bolt! I thinkyou'll be hooked, I knowI am.

Good Luck

You mentioned the 710 and I assumed...sorry.[&:]

I think you'll like the 7600.Other options for something different: Lever or if at all interested in an Auto- Browning BAR's.

Good Luck

760 or 7600 is absolutely reliable. I've owned two and my whole family together has 8, it's all we hunt with and we have never had any problems. All are jam free and accurate. Great deer gun, quick follow up shots. I think just as quick as a Semi.

awesome. i am pretty much convinced that it will be my next rifle. hopefully i can order one from wal-mart before they get rid of selling rifles completely. they have already taken numerous guns off their website.

WalMart always does that after the first of the year, I saw that last year, and got freaked out, they should have all the guns, and new models like the Ruger Hawkeye Alaskan, In march, or mid Feb, listed on their website.

I hope so, too, I have heard rumors that Walmart is gonna phase out guns everywhere.

yeah me too. i don't understand why. don't a lot of people buy their guns from wal-mart? i have bought all but one guns at wal-mart. i will be really sad if they really do stop selling guns.

I buy almost all of my guns from Wal Mart, that would be a shame if they stopped sales of firearms. They have such good prices, and they can order just about anything.
