Cantilever or rib vent barrel?
 

What is the difference in these two barrels? Which one is better for turkey hunting? Thanks in advance.

Cantilever barrel allows the mounting of a scope or red dot site.

Most cantilevered barrels are for deer slugs.. but there are a few out there that are smooth bore with chokes that would make an excellent turkey barrel... if you want to use optics.

I would go catilever barrel hands down.
A much better set up vs mounting scope bases to reciever which may come loose with time,shift,move etc..along with any minute play in barrel and reciever.With Cant mount your scope is married to the barrel so to speak IF you've mounted the rings correclty.You can also swap barrels without loosing zero.

For turkey I would go with a vent rib and some good fiber optic clamp on sights. Or get a turkey barrel that comes with some decent open sights. I see no need for a scope on turkeys. Maybe a red dot, but good open sights should work just as well. Heck my buddy has no trouble killing them with twin beads on his 870 special purpose turkey gun.

What kind of gun are you talking about?
