Otis-I just got back today from another hunting trip and my partner and myself added two more elk to our list of ballistic tip kills.Both were 180 gr ballistic tips and both were launched out of 300 ultramags at just under 3400 fps.One kill was 200 yards and the bullet went through the upper leg then through the heart then through part of the offside leg and exited.The other was a 240 yard shot that passed through the ribs just behind the shoulders and left a 1-1/2" exit hole when leaving the rib cage.The first elk dropped at the shot and the second took three or four steps before falling.Both were smaller than average elk but they bring our total to four elk and two bull moose with this bullet.My total number of big game kills with all ballistic tips is now nearly 40 and my partners have another 10 or so between them since they also started using them.

wow lose to 3400fps with a 180gr bullet? those must be some stiff loads. what's the load data for that load?

Prairie boy-the load is 96gr of reloader25.It is safe im my rifles and is the top load shown on the swift site.
