RE: hornady tap fpd ammo???
I never used to .308 but a friend had the .223 for a M-16 we were shooting. It seemed to shoot good. We didnt have any feeding problems. Never really tryed for accuracy at any range it was a speed shooting day. I dont think there should be an accuracy problem, I never have accuracy problems from Hornady. All i can say is get a box of each and see how they do.

RE: hornady tap fpd ammo???
I have shot quite a bit of the .223 TAP ammo. My old AR-15, which had a 1:12 twist, shot about MOA with the 55 gr. TAP load. New Rock River gun, with a 1:9 twist, shot almost 3" with this load - as well as several other brands of 55 gr. law enforcement ammo. The 60 gr. TAP, however, shot a dime size group at 100 yards, and the 75 gr. was almost as good. Another Rock River gun with the same barrel twist appears to shoot real well with the 55 gr. TAP. Just try 'em all and see what your rifle prefers.
The local police department here in Pueblo, Colorado has had several deadly force encounters where officers deployed AR-15's loaded with TAP ammo. My understanding is that the stopping power of these rounds has been about as good as it gets (or as bad as it gets, depending on your perspective).

My uncle has used the .223 TAP in his department issue M-16A1. My only experience was at 50 yards and it was grouping 1-1.5inches on a rest. I just cant remember what grain bullet though. We where just shooting paper but he said it had very good penetration. I'm actually going to buy a box of TAP 40 S&W next week to try in my XD-40
