In order to be prepared for ANY critter you might encounter at ANY possible range? Why, the Nosler Partition Jacket!

Reason: The front end is a soft, relatively frangible separate bulletthat will expand on light tissue, and at almost any range (impact velocity). The rear partis a tough "solid", so that even if the front core is completely gone, there is the back part which retainssufficient sectional density to continue penetrating far enough to destroy the vital organs.

There MAY be another bullet design out there that will do as well in both expansion and penetration. But I have not yet used one, if they actually exist!

I don't know Elde, the trophy bonded bearclaw is every bit as good if not better. And it may edge the partition on penetration. For my purposes the bearclaws have just enough lead in them to provide a decent sized exit hole, but they have the bonded copper design to provide an exit hole 99% of the time.

I think the TSX bullet will turn out to be one of the best buullets ever made. However at this point the Nosler Partition is about the most proven bullet out there. Its design was perfect on paper when Old John drew it up and it proven its self to be up to about every task asked of it. A bullet needs to be tough for close range but open well at reduced velocity at long range. Nothing can do this job as well as the NP. If I had to bet my life on a bullet, this would be it. IMO.

The Remington Core Lokt has always done well for me. That and the Winchester Silvertips. But personally I like the Core Lokts better. What can I say, until I started reloading this year I bought what offered a good price/performance ratio.[8D]

I like v-max for my varmit and NP's for just about the rest. I just got my dies for my .300wm so I will get some NP in it and be happy.

You certainly could be right about the TBBC bullet. I just haven't used one yet. Primarily because I have about 100 pounds of bullets in various calibers now. I probably won't live long enough to use 'em all up, even without buying any new ones!
