AR .308 Lower

Does anyone know who makes .308 Lowers?? I need an "off-list" lower, so no Colt, Armalite, Bushmaster, DPMS, OlyArms, etc... I am in California so I need a brand that is not on the DOJ list of illegal guns.

Thanks Guys

You can't be serious. Just because a receiver has an off-brand name, it doesn't mean it will keep you out of the long reach of the law in Kookifornia.

Good luck with that, I don't even know why you are considering that, in California.

You're going to need to drive to an AZ or NV gun show. You might get lucky and find an individual that is not up on the FTF laws. I don't think that many people will risk shipping one to CA. You just missed the big Crossroads gun show in Phoenix. There were a lot of individuals selling ARs at this last show. I'm guessing that you are aware that FFL paperwork is required for lowers. Good luck.

Statjunk showed me a web site the other day. WWW.AR15.COM You can find the list you want over there. Tom.

I've saw www.AR15.com but I'm not I member yet to I thought I'd try here first.

Briman: Yes as hard as it is to believe, "off-list" lowers are legal. I can get .223 lowers all day, shipped right to my FFL. They are Stag, Vulcan, Superior, LAR, etc... To make the legal I just have to use the Prince 50 magazine lock, so no more detachable mag. But just turn a allen screw three times and it is detachable again for when I go out of state. There have been about 35,000 of these off-list guns built and only two people have gotten arrested. One got dropped before he made it to court, the other is in court right now because he pulled the rifle out and pointed at someone else.

Jeepkid- thanks for the edumacation, I had thought that all of the AR receivers needed to be registered. I think I read somewhere that the California AG is also looking at going after the magazine lockout devices. Good luck out there.

Briman- Yeah I'm sure this little loophole won't last for too long. Thats why I'm trying to get them now and get them registered. I didn't believe it at first either, but I won't complain about it.:D
