BLACK RIFLE FORUM

Does anyone know of a good black rifle forum. I am looking at putting together a Rock River-and I have questions about scope mounting. Thanks, Tom.

I used A.R.M.S #22 quick-tach rings with 1" scope ineserts (they come as 30mm rings)on my Rock River AR. This was a flatop gun.

I currently have another black gun in the works, and will be re-using those rings again on that one.

ar15.com is a good place for lots of black rifle info.

Rammer: How tall are the rings? How is your cheek weld?

I have a Colt Delta H-Bar. It came from the factory with a scope mounted on top of the carrying handle. The rifle is clumbsy. And there is way too much distance between bore and center of scope. I want to put together a Varmint rig out to 300 yards with a black rifle(While we still can). My major concern is scope mounting.

I am looking at the Rock River. I am trying to decide between the Predator, and the Varminter with the raised bases. Tom.

I had a 16" Varmint from Rock River, and it was a very nice shooter. I end up selling the rifle and turned a good profit doing so, and have been regretting it ever since. My only complaint was the weight. When it was scoped/fully loaded it wasn't much fun to carry coyote hunting (main reason I had the rifle).

My cheek weld was good, and I bought the medium height rings.

Here are a few pics:

Statjunk-I went to that site-I am sure I will find what I want there. Thank you.

Rammer: Man I am jealous. Those are some fantastic pictures. Thanks for your reply. I hear what you are saying about the weight. However I am a handicapped shooter, so everything I will be doing will be from a fixed position. I just bough a new Kawasaki Mule, and I am having it customized. I am actually ashamed of the things I have already done to it. And even more ashamed of the things that I have planned. But I can not wait to get it finished. The Mule allowed meto get out and deer hunt this year, back in the woods the way I like it. I have not been able to ground hog hunt for a couple of years. But now with my Mule I am back. And believe me the hogs are in bigtrouble. I have a new Kimber Long Master Classic, but I am not going to use it. I am to clumbsy, and I can imagine how bad I would tear it up. I am going to sell it, and buy the Rock River. Tom.

Rammer: Thats the exact gun that I want to build!! What lower do you have? I need to buy either Stag, Spikes, Vulcan, Superior, just because I am in California so I need an off-list lower and then bolt the mag in so its not detachable. Yeah it sucks but thats my only option. How does it shoot? Whats your range? I hoping to shoot around 250-300yrds with it, and then use my PSS for anything longer.

jeepkid - That is a Rock River NM Lower with a Rock River 16" Upper.

Ameetec Arms has a deal right now for an M4 style lower for $200. I was considering buying one of those for my next AR build and adding a NM trigger to it.

The gun will easily shoot 300 yards accurately. I don't own the gun anymore, but I could go rapid fire off my bipod with a 20rd mag at 100 yards and cover all 20 with a baseball if that tells you anything.
