What you need is a long plug in the magazine to limit the # of shells to whatever your states requirements are. You can easily make a custom length plug to fit in your gun to hold the perfect ammount of shells. The 870 is a great choice of a gun, and the Magnum will serve you well. There is a HUGE aftermarket of parts/accessories you can add to it as well.

alright thanks alot guys, these guns seem to go for around 300 which is pretty cheap if you ask me. The synthetic 18" with the 7 round magazine is the way im going. Thanks for the help
