Bell & Carlson Medalist Stock
Anyone have any experience with Bell & Carlson stocks, specifically the Medalist series? B&C makes a Weatherby-style stock to fit the Remington 700. I think this would be a nice stock. It has a full aluminum bedding block, and the price is reasonable at $220.
Any feedback? |
RE: Bell & Carlson Medalist Stock
I put one on a rem 7/08 amd a rem 270.Didn't have to do anything but drop them in.I got the tan/black really like the looks.Cannot really say these stocks helped the accuracy because these rifles all ready shot very well.
Would like to put one on a rem BDL with the removablemagazine but didn'tsee where they made one for it.Sent them an e-mail but they never did answer it. |

They are good stocks, if you want a synthetic. They are drop in, no mods needed. I have in the past skim bedded the aluminum block and recoil lug recess with glass to insure complete bedding, though its probably not necessary.

RE: Bell & Carlson Medalist Stock
Thanks guys. I posted this question on another forum, and the answer I got was basically, "if it ain't a McMillan, don't bother." There's certainly nothing wrong with a McMillan, but I can buy two of these guys for the cost of one McMillan.
I am thinking of getting the Weatheby-style stock for my .338-06 and convert it to a BDL in the process (using Williams bottom metal). On my .280 Improved I am thinking about getting the Remington Ti Mountain Rifle stock, and keep it as an ADL. B&C offers this stock in their catalog now. |
