Difference between Tikka and Sako
 

Can anyone tell me what the difference is between the sako and Tikka besides the couple hundred dollar price range??

The Sako is (quality wise) better. It doesn't have the polymer parts (like trigger guard, magazine, etc) like the Tikka does. The Tikka has a hollowed out bolt handle for lighter weight whereas the Sako bolt handle is not hollowed out. Wooden stocked Sako's are nicer than their counterparts. Basically, a Tikka is a cheapened version of a Sako. The barrels are both made in the same plant... as far as I know. With that being said both shoot wonderfully for me. I have a Sako 75 in 30-06 and a Tikka T-3 Lite Stainless in 25-06. They both do the job my friend. It just depends on what you want to spend for what degree of quality. The Tikka has good value and the Sako is just plain good...IMO.

From what I can remember looking at the Tikka compared to the Sako is that,

#1- Sako has a metal clip where as the Tikka has a plastic clip.

#2- Sako clip holds more rounds.

#3-The Sako has a 3 locking lug bolt compared to 2 locking lug bolt from Tikka.

#4-The Tikka has one action fits all compared to the Sako 75 with 4 actions to suit 4 different length cartridge.

#5-I find the stock on the Sako to be made of better quality material with the soft rubber
grips.

#6-The action on the Tikka is made with some plastic parts compared to all metal parts for Sako.

Similarities-They both have the same quality barrels with the same accuracy spec. Both have adjustable triggers. Both have 70° bolt lift. Both can use the Optiloc base and rings. I may have missed somethings but this is what I can come up with. Sorry bugsNbows if I repeated somethings...:D
