Hey
I was in the store the other day.
And saw a 7mm mag hich was a Savage.
Does anyone have a Savage 7mm mag.
And does a Savage kick and have alot of felt recoil.
And would a sythenthic Stock Savage 7mm mag kick aot and have alot of felt recoil?
Please help me out .

Would a synthetic stocked Savage in 7mm Rem Mag have alot of felt recoil? Well depends on how recoil sensitive you are. I shot a Savage 300 Win Mag synthetic for awhile, but then put a laminated stock on it. It thumped a bit, but I'm not that recoil shy. I put the laminate stock on because it fit me better and I don't like the feel of plastic. What you can do to reduce recoil if you find it a bit much is put lead balls in the stock cavities. Another thing you can do is if you are so worried about the recoil of the 7mm Rem Mag, think about a 7mm-08 Rem or a 270 Win, provided you are hunting deer and black bear. Both have great ballistics and less recoil than the 7mm Rem Mag.

I bought a Savage 7mm mag from walmart, but I ordered mine in a laminated stock. I had to do this because I am left handed. Anyway, The 7mm mag does have some kick, but I put a recoil pad on mine, and now I don't even notice it. I am not sure about the synthetic stock, but I know it is lighter, so it should have a little more kick. I would say though if you put a recoil pad on it it will be alright. I really like mine. I am shooting sub 1inch groups of five at 100yds, and it is about the most consistent gun I have ever shot. I am looking for a smaller caliber to complement it though, so if you are only shooting whitetail and have a lot of close shots you might want to get the Savage .270 it is a great gun as well. I don't think you can go wrong with either one. Savage is a great gun in my opinion. Good luck this season.

I've never noticed the 7mm Rem Mag. to have any more noticable recoil than a 30-06 really. As far as Savage, they make an excellent gun for the money. I hunted with a 7mm Rem Mag. synthetic stock Savage for several years.

The synthetic Savage is pretty light. It will probably have a noticable kick. My buddy has a .300 Win in the Synthetic Savage and that kicks pretty hard. The 7mm will be a good deal less, though. The model gun would depend, too. The stock is light but how thick is the barrel. The will make a big difference in weight and recoil. My buddy's rifle has a pretty thin barrel.

I also shoot a Savage 110 in .270 Win.,synthetic stock,and sporting a 2.8X10 Aetec,and consistantly produce 1/2" groups at 100 meters.Not the prettiest or most expensive rifle in the woods.....but one of the most accurate!!! (...and pretty doesn't fill deer tags!!)
