RE: Rem 1187 Slug gun
I just don't get it. I shoot copper solids with great accuracy out of mine. Around 3" groups at 100 yards. So at the range this weekend, I talked a freind into also using them, and they sucked big time. I mean 7" groups at 100 yards. Tryed the Fed. Slugs and he got 3-4" groups. I tried the Fed Slugs and get 9" groups. But for the funny part, both of us shoot the lightfields great. Has to be the way the barrel is. I bet one of ours is tight and the other loose or something like that. I don't know what else could govern accuracy out of a slug gun besides barrel dimensions and straightness. Same gun 11-87.

I GOT THE 12GA RIFLED/CANTILEVER 11-87, WITH A 3-9X40 LEUPOLD, I HAVE YET TO SHOT IT. I WILL BE TRYING LIGHTFEILDS, WINCHESTER GOLD PARTIONS, AND REMINGTONS COPPER SOLIDS, SEE WHAT HAPPENS. A FRIEND HAS SAME GUN, HE LIKES THE LIGHTFEILDS.

RE: Rem 1187 Slug gun
I have a Remington 870 SPS Super Slug gun with a Leupold 3.5-10X40 in Leupold rings, Timney trigger job. I have tried 5 different slugs with the following results;
Winchester Supreme Partition-very inconsistent, I've shot about 10 boxes of these.
Federal Expander 3"-bad
Hornady H2K-really,really,really bad
Lightfield 2 3/4"-OK, could hunt with these
Remington Solid Copper 3"-the best so far, gun really likes these
Plan to try Remington Core-Lokt Ultra Bonded next.
You might want to look at Tar-Hunt's web site, (http://www.tar-hunt.com/)
