Oh ya . i would second that- for a semi auto the ruger 10/22.

I haveone and its been great for me -for much less the250.I have used it a lot &And it has many aftermarket parts etc do do things with.
( i thought it was acting up/malfuctioning last time i was out- but it wasnt the gun -but the cheap mag acting up)

My marlin( model 60) i havent had such good luck with- but maybe i just got a bad one or something i am not doing right- like keeping it clean etc;)

Ditto on the 10/22. If you want to add another $1000 for aftermarket goodies you can.
A plain unmodified 10/22 is almost as much fun as the race ones

RE: .22

Check out a new savage 22 with the accu trigger. You could scope it and still be under 250.

Agreed. I'm still shooting my dad's bicentennial model and it works amazingly perfect.

CZ's are great and are very accurate. A CZ 452 "Basic" with a beachwood stock goes for $192.99 at Whittaker Guns http://www.whittakerguns.com/. A 452 American w/turkish walnut stock goes for $306.99.

Here's a pic of my 453 American which is basically the same as the 452 American except the 453 has a fully adjustable single set trigger.

Like I said, and I'm sure others will confirm, CZ's are generally very accurate. Mine is every bit as accurate as the 1416D Anschutz I used to have. Here is a pic of 10 five shot groups that were shot as I was still breaking the barrel in and before I got the trigger adjusted properly.

If accuracy is important, I don't see how you could go wrong with a CZ. A CZ 452 Basic @ $192 is a lot of value for the money! Irecommend saving your pennies just a little while longer and get the 452 American w/walnut stock. Then you will have a rifle that will not only be accurate but will last a lifetime.

Buy a Ruger 10/22. All kinds of barrels andother speed parts are made for them. No other .22 has as many after market accessories available.

a buddy of mine has the top one and it seems to have some ejection problems. it seems like a lot more often that it should the bolt will catch the empty cartridge and just ruin everything at the moment. for an example of the frequency it happened at least two times that i know of in a single morning of squirrel hunting.
