I've had one for about 15 years now. Nice gun. I wouldshoot out to 100 yards for a deer.

I have a 336. Great little gun. Usually not the most accurate. Due to the bad lockup of a lever. A bolt is superior. I consistently get 2MOA performance or much better at 100 yards with both my 1895 45-70 and 336 30-30.

Every gunnut should own one or two..

I love my 336. I get 1.5" groups @ 100 yards with 150grn Fusion ammo. It is an extremely well built rifle that will take deer no problem out to 125-150 yards with traditional ammo.

I've never noticed any problems with any I've had. Most of the Marlins I've shot have surprised people with how accurate they can be.

As far as how good they are they have sold over a millon of them so that should tell you something. I've shot deer out to 200 yards with mine with no problems. With the new Hornady shells they can shoot well past 200 yards.
