Anyone have one of these yet? Is it worth upgrading to?

Too wierd, and too expensive and really not needed unless you have a varmit rig and like to practice at 600 yards. But I like the innovation of it.

I was thinking the same thing. I site in at 100 yards so it's not that big of a deal. However, it could help my point of impact at 25, 50 and 75 yards to be closer to the bullseye. That's kind of important when trying to thread the needle through a tight shooting lane in the bush.

It's my understanding that they only have the bottom cut-out on the large objective (50mm) models. The idea is that you can get a larger objective, and keep the mounting height the same. I don't think you are going to get your scope any closer to the bore; at best, your mounting height will be the same as a smaller (and much cheaper) scope.

I actually really like them. I don't have my own yet, but I have looked through them and they are very nice scopes. They even have a 56mm that will mount on low mounts. If I can have a big objective scope like that on a low mount, well, it can't get much better then that. I know most people on here say there is no reason to have anything over a 44mm scope, but, there is. And once these people see these scopes in real life they will become believers.

I for one find no reason to try the vx-l.Instead of going to a larger lens to increase brightness,I prefer going to a scope with better lenses andcoatings.I find my swarovski 3x10x42 scopes every bit as bright as the vxIII 3.5x10x50.As well the vxIII 3.5x10x50 actually has more lens surface area than the 50mmvx-l,so the 50mm vx-l will not likelybe as bright as as the vxIII.

How much did you pay for your Swarovski?? Just curious at the price difference.
