.300 WSM vs. .338-06 A-Square
Having now shot both, I think I can handle the recoil of each of these cartridges and nothing more. My questions are: Which will make a better elk gun? Which is more versatile? Which will pair better with a 6.5x55 Swedish to make the "Dynamic Duo" for deer, antelope and elk hunting?
I will certainly handload, so each will be tailored to the task at hand.
Any thoughts?

RE: .300 WSM vs. .338-06 A-Square
i would look at it as..
do you reload?
if you do i would go with the 338-06square. ( good amount of selcetion of bullets).
if i don't?
the 300WSM would be a better round. even though they have only federal and winchester for now.
i personally have not really heard much of the 338-06square so i cannot judge which would be ideal for what you hunt.
