RE: Need some help / Advice on Rifle selection
Here we go buddy, opinions are like younguns.........everyone's got one. I have a Browning A-Bolt SS (270 wsm) & I love it, however i've also heard great things about the Remy SPS.....I think you would do fine with either...good luck.

RE: Need some help / Advice on Rifle selection
ORIGINAL: cma3366a If you wanna do the long range thing, I wouldent go with a standard sporter, but rather something with a heavy barrel. Either one of the Savage LE rifles on the cheap end, or something like a remington VLS or LTR on the higher end. As far as a caliber, I'd go with a .308. |

For $800 the LTR in .308 is probably the single best production gun you can get right now. They are super accurate and no I didn't' just get a good one BigBulls. Look around the net and you'll see the reports. :) |

Wow $800 for a Remington 700. I did not realize they were so expensive. I know where a Kimber Montana in 308 can be bought for around $975. I would sure go with the Kimber before I would buy a Remington at that price. Tom.

ORIGINAL: HEAD0001 Wow $800 for a Remington 700. I did not realize they were so expensive. It all depends on what kind of Model 700 you get. If you get an SPS, it's a heck of alot cheaper. A brand new one costsa bit over$500. The price range goes from $500 for the SPSto $1300 for a Titanium. It depends on what you get, but all 700s are goodguns. You don't have to get areally expensive gun to take downan elk. |
