Ruger Mini 30 Stainless

Hey guys,

What cartridge does a Ruger Mini 30 shoot? What do the rounds retail for?

Also what would a used Ruger Mini 30 Stainless go for used but in 98%+ condition?

Thanks

Tom

It shoots 7x62 mm Russian caliber. They use it in the SKS too.

You can get the ammo pretty cheaply, get a 50 round Winchester box.

I guess you could get about $500 for the gun. The guns cost about $800 in retail.

It is chambered in 7.62X39, the same as the AK's and SKS's.

Actually, th cartridge is the 7.62mm X 39mm Soviet. This round is about .30 caliber, not7mm, and it has a cartridge case 39mm long, not 62mm long.......

This is the same cartridge that is used in not only the SKS, but in the AK 47 as well.......

It seems to me that military ball ammo for these rifles is just about the cheapest centerfire stuff on the market these days. But some of it looks so crappy I would hesitate 6to shoot it in any decent rifle, like my CZ 527.....
