BLR lightning owners.

i have a few questions and would like to know your imput on them.

.. how do you like them?
.. have you had any problems with them since they have changed to aluminum? or just in general?
.. how do they shoot? ( groups wise )

and any other PRO's and CON's you have on them. i am leaning twards one just because it would be a good stalking gun in 7mm-08rem. i would be leaving the iron sights on it maybe putting a peep sight on it.

i have the lightening blr in the 7mag. it is rough when shooting due to no recoil pad. i installed a pad and it is now extremely smooth. also its accuracy depends upon the quality of glass you put on it. i have a swarovski 4x12x50. i have shot squirrels at close to 200 yds. i killed a buck today and a does last week.the clip in these things could be alot more secure.it just barely clips in. i have never had it come out but it just drives me crazy.

I really can't comment too much on the Lightning, but I've had a BLR 81 in .284 Win and it was one of the best guns I have ever owned. I killed both deer and elk with it, and it was nearly perfect for walking around in the woods and stalking game. I will forever lament the day I sold that rifle.

Also, my brother has a BLR 81 in 7mm/08 (which I bought him), and if my .284 wasn't the perfect woods rifle, his 7/08 is. <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>
