Default RE: high ,low ... brass??

The reason for high brass on a shotgun shell is for mainly looks and so the shooter can see what he is useing low or high. The high brass shells have more powder in them due to the fact they have more shot in the shell and need more umph to get it out, the range is about the same with 2 3/4 and 3in there is only more shot thus the need for more power. The chamber of the gun is what directs the power, if you have ever reloaded you know the reason to "size " each case or shell hull. You could have no brass at all and still shoot with out any mishap, thus the "ACTIVE all plastic shell" Now that we have steel shot the fps has gone to around 1350 with the 3in mag and stays around 1200 fps for anything else. You dont get more range ,only more shot in the air for a better pattern.
