pistol hunters and bipods

I can't make up my mind. I have looked at several of the brands. I want some shooting sticks that I can walk with like a hiking staff, but works great for pistol from anywhere from 30" to 5'. Cabelas offers one and so does stoney.

Woudl like to hear from people that do pistol hunt up to 100 yards.

Good post Big. I'd like to see what the people are using too. For the last few years I've used a homemade shooting stick(s). I bolted a pair of 36" 5/8" hardwood dowels together about 6" from the top with a #10 1 1/2" bolt with a washer between the dowels and wrapped the upper section with self adhesive felt. I drilled the bottoms about 1" deep and glued a nail in the holes and cut the rest off leaving about an inch sticking out. They work great for sitting or kneeling and helpwhen cilmbing up steep mtn. sides. When opened they form an "X" and the nails on the bottom keep the legs from kicking out when you rest the handgun on it.

I've got a set of Gander Mountain sticks that I use with my XP100. They're pretty good but I can usually find a better way to stabilize the pistol. The sticks work really well for rifles though.
