Remington 750 versus Mossberg 835? Recoil??
 

At 5'10" 160 pounds the Remmington is beating the heck out of my sholder.

Mossberg's website says their 12 guage (835) is actually bored for 10 guage, added with some fancy vent ports, it creates less kick.

Any body compared both side-by-side? Any other differences between the two?

Well yes I have... the Mossberg 835 is a pump shotgun.. and the Remington 750 is a semi auto rifle.

I assume that you meant the remington 870... as far as kick goes.. I'd say suck it up.. both are going to kick pretty equally. I'd suggest getting a Simms Limbsaver recoil pad... it made a huge difference on my fathers 870.

Before getting this one, the only shotgun experience I had was a buddy's 20 guage. Used to shoot that for hours! I guess like anything my body will adapt.

The Limbsaver pad will cost you about $35.. or the Remington R3... same thing w/ Remington's name on it. It will make a huge difference... Most Remingtons now come w/ it from the factory.

Porting does make a difference. I have an 835 with no porting and my dad has one with porting. I'd go with the ported version.
