Best grouping .223 cartridge?No Reloads!

Can you help me cut down on some of the testing?Nothing over 55 grains please.Right now I'm expermenting with different manufactures.Federal 55 grain boattail FMJ's,American Eagle 55 grain hollow points,Winchester 40 grain ballistic silver tips,Pmc 55 grain FMJ's.
I haven't tried the silvertips or the PMC's yet.But the American Eagle cartridge is all over the place.Federal seems to be the best grouping at 100 yards so far.

Yesterday we had alot of wind and the Federal performed the best,so far.

My barrel has a twist rate of 1:12.

Black Hills ammo shoots best in my Savage Tactical.
1 in 12 seems a bit slow for a .223

BLACK HILLS...BLACK HILLS...BLACK HILLS....!!!

You can find it at almost any good gun/ammo store. It's probably the most accurate factory loads on the market. It comes in a blue colored box. Ask your favorite gun store to order you some 55grainers!!! you won't be sorry. I'd say that Federal is a close second on my .223's.

Steve...from my experience you won't find PMC's or Winchester's to be that accurate. I like the Core-lokts and Federals.

I haven't noticed much of a difference accuracy wise from my Black Hills ammo and the others (Federal/Winchester/Wolf) but have noticed a great difference being the area of the target that they hit. One might hit low consistantly but if you switch to another you start hitting high.
The Black Hills I have used was remanufactured ammo.
I'm curious as to why you are only interested in 55 grain or lower? I believe the 62 and 64 grain factory loads have better ballistics.
