Deal or No Deal
Hi people.
I just got offered a deal within the last 10 mins that I need some input. Someone wants to trade me a DPM in 223 for my Savage 110 in REM223. The rifle comes with a 4 or 6 power tactical and 4 twenty round mags hardly ever shot. My savage is a sweet rifle looks almost new and has a simmons 3x9 and plusturn over 2 bills. My first instinct was heck yeah, but honestly I know nadda about the DPM. Any info will be greatful.

you're talking about an $800 assault rifle vs a $300 varmit rifle. If you have other guns heck yeah grab the AR its worth the money. If thats gonna be your primary ground hog gun keep the Savage. Me, Id take the AR.
* I didnt see the comment about wanting $200 also, I would bet you are still making out in the end.

It sounds too good to be true actually. I would want to fire that AR-15. I've had three of them 2 Bushy's and 1 Armalight and all had jamming problems. He may be trying to unload a problamatic weapon on you. Shoot it first then trade!

I bought the savage brand new for $350 With the added $200 it totals $550. lol basic math skills lucky for me. Money wise I'm a little a head I relize that. I guess what I need to know is how reliable are they? As statjunk stated he had jamming issues. I asked the person why they were selling the rifle. Hewanted a bolt to save on ammo. Also I was offerd to shoot it but I'm a little busy and I don't have much time at the moment. I will shoot it b4 I make my decision. Thanks for the imput guys more will always be highly appreicated

I think you got your advice. Run a couple of hundred rounds through it and see how it feeds. Try different magazines. Field strip it and look at the condition of the action. Look for wear on the locking lugs. Check to see that the gas reciever tube on the slide is tacked in place and not loose.
It most likely will not be nearly as accurate as you bolt. Though the Armalite I had would hold 2" groups at 100 yards with factor ammo.
