I have owned two mark Vs with synthetic stocks.I was very disappointed in the accuracy of the two mark Vs in 257wby and 300wby.Neither would group 1" or better even after plenty of load development. If It was my money, and I really wanted the weatherby name,I would buy a vanguard sub moa in 300win mag.If I just wanted a high quality rifle reguardless of the brand name,I would buy a sako in 300win mag.I have owned sako and find them to be of higher quality for the same price as a mark V.And with the sako you get the 5 shots into 1" accuracy guarantee, instead of 3 shots into 1-1/2" with the accumark.I should mention that if you don't handload, the 300 weatherby factory loads arequite expensive. You can buy non weatherby factory loads for the 300wby for lower prices, but they are downloaded and don't match the ballistics of the weatherby brand loads.
