Wait a few years, and you will have a post count. Not sure why it really mattered to you to begin with. And why on earth didn't you pos all of that crap in the test forum?

Your Favorite handgun cartridge
You should add to your post and say " Bored in Arkansas" ;)

RE: Fave Handgun Cartridge

My favorite handgun cartrige is the 357 mag. I feel it is the most versatile cartridge. Loaded down, it will handle all small game, and loaded hot, with the right cast bullet, it will handle everything with a lung shot up to moose inside of 100 yds.

I don't hate your posting! Those who actually make a post to criticize you have nothing better to do than you did during your moment of weekness. Don't listen to them...51% of the people on this board are full of BS anyways. Besides, if "the score" didn't count, they wouldn't bother keeping it.

Wow, I'm gone a few weeks and all kinds of drama comes up!!!! lol, I dunno what happened at the beginning of the thread but I'll answer the original question:

44mag, (as a "hunting" caliber) for much the same reason as ths78 chose the 357. Load it down, and you've got an all day plinker/target/small gamer. Load it hot and it becomes a serious big-game killer at close ranges. I won't argue as to which is more versatile the .44 or 357 because both are about as versatile as you're gonna get in a single cartridge. Add to it that both cartridges are available in revolvers AND rifles and it makes them even more beautiful. And whatever has happened ths78 is correct. Everything said on here needs to be taken with a grain a salt because alot of people are just full of hot air.

I like the 40 S&W. Great round for shooting varmits. Pretty good for firing at the range. Doeasn't kick too much, I would expect the .44 Mag. to be pretty nasty.

RE: Fave Handgun Cartridge

The 44 certainly CAN be punishing, but in a big heavy hunting revolver you can get handloads down to about the same as my .22mag pistol and they are still potent enough to ruin a yotes day. I'll admit I thought he meant favorite "hunting" handgun cartridge. If you open it up to CCW stuff the .44 isn't a realistic choice.
