RE: 7X57 rifles
Did a quick search on a gun auction site, turned up a new Ruger Mk77 for $1000, seems pretty high to me, and a used Mk77 for $600.

A few other ones, but for a sporting rifle these stood out first.

Yes, they still make 2 versions of the #1 in 7x57.
The #1-A and the "international", which I think is #1-RSI
I have the international, my own "first choice" hunting rifle.
My father also has one along with a CZ 550 in 7x57.
I was thinking of getting one of those also.

RE: 7X57 rifles
When I saw this thread yesterday I did some quick checking and I went to CZ first thinking they, of all manufacuturers, would chamber the 7 X 57 and have them ready to ship. However it looks like they no longer chamber it except upon request. So I'm sure they'll build you one but don't know what they'd expect as a premium for the special order.
Interestingly enough they do chamber the 6.5 X 57 off the rack. That ought to be a sweetheart of a rifle packeage from the CZ folks!
It is a wonderful round. I own a 1909 Steyr with the rotary magazine in 7 X 57. Smoothest bolt I've ever worked and was my first ever rifle for deer. I cut lawns and trimmed bushes for weeks to save up the $76.00 it cost me off the consignment rack in 1967. And although it only wears nice express sights it is still a beauty and shoots as well as your eyes will allow.

I have a Howa that I had rebarreled to 7 x 57 by ER Shaw that one was a little pricy but it shoots. I've got a K.Kale turk, that I've got a wilson barrel on, in a Bell and carlson stock, a bold trigger an after market hinged trigger guard, that is sweet, and I've got a V24 that has a adams & Bennet barrel on that is ok. I would say having one built is the best bet however if you don't reload ammo can be a challenge to find exept on line

RE: 7X57 rifles
Here is my Mod M 7mm Steyr with double set triggers. This is my favorite rifle which has been retired due to it's value. The 7mm Mauser has been around since the Mauser brothers invented the thing back in the 1880's. The 03 Springfield copied this outstanding action but really didn't improve the thing. A wonderful caliber and one for the ages. Regards, Rick.

RE: 7X57 rifles
it is not as easy asi would have thought to find a new rifle in 7 x 57. [:'(]
as others have mentioned, ruger chamber it in their No#1 models.
for some reason, most of the europeans, who i thought would have chambered one of their all-time great rounds, have opted to chamber the 7 x 64 brenneke instead. ( most also cater for the 8mm mauser as well)
i do know Heym chamber the round in their bolt action sporter, but it's a semi custom item, with a suitable price tag, and some double rifles are done in the 7 x 57 rimmed.

RE: 7X57 rifles
My understanding is that CZ was not selling enough 7X57mm's here, so they quit importing them into the U.S. I don't know if the 7X57mm CZ is still available in Europe. If so, perhaps CZ USA could get you one??
I also heard that Ruger was dropping the chambering. That was at least a year ago, but I am not sure whether they have done so yet.
