..I have a rem 7600,243 no scope but leupold base and rings.
ok nieghbor has a like new Ruger MKII 243,it has no scope
he wants to swap strait up,both guns are near mint???
should i trade for the bolt gun,i realy like a bolt gun..
what do you think...:)..

I would have no hesitation at all in making this trade.I would take the bolt gun over any pump if the conditions are the same.

In the time it took you to type this post, I would have had the Ruger in hand. A Remington pump is an abomination in my eyes. Pumps are good for shotguns, not for serious rifles.

i probally would take it depending on the bolt action feels when i bring it up to my shoulder.

Even an old wingshooter like me would have a tough time hitting birds with a .243. I don't understand why Remington ever would have chambered a shotgun for that round...<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

Shame, shame shame! <img src=icon_smile_shock.gif border=0 align=middle> I'll take my 7600 in 30-06, or my brohter's in .270, and put up against any of ya'lls stock bolt guns for group shooting any day! Well, any takers?<img src=icon_smile_tongue.gif border=0 align=middle> Seriously though, if that ruger is a mark11 I wouldn't want it at all, If it's a mark1, then I might would think about it pretty hard, especially if I preferred a bolt gun.
