XD is pretty sweet.
I finally got out to rent an XD yesterday.
Very nice. I've held them before, but hadn't shot one until now. I'm impressed with the trigger pull. If DAO is something you might consider, take a peek at these nice pieces. Feel good in the hand, and I shot it just as well as the house Glock I've had for 6 years. Now I've just got to make a choice between the XD and thePara-Ord Nite-Tac LDA. Decisions, decisions. |
RE: XD is pretty sweet.
Would like to hear how (and what) it feeds for you.

RE: XD is pretty sweet.
This one was just a rental, so I just threw some cheapo 230grain FMJ ball at it. Did fine, but you'd expect it to, with rounded shiny bullets. I think the brand was American... something-or-other, in a red box.
If you are aware of feeding probs, please let me know, as I'm considering this purchase for potential use in "close range interpersonal crisis management", should the need ever arise. I like the Para a lot too, but the light rail is the 1913 config instead of the standard civilian one that Glock and many others use. Go figure, I already have a light that works on the standard, not the 1913. |
RE: XD is pretty sweet.
www.xdtalk.com has various reports about some problems with the pistol, and a seperate forum for rust problems. (Rusty tales.) It looks like you are shooting a 45 and I understand the finish is different. I don't own one but I have been considering one. Some seem to need a break in period, some don't like cheap ammo, and they include some reports of parts failures. At the same time, many work like a top for thousands of rounds so I am trying to sort it all out.

Thanks.
