which gun is the better gun
 

i just won a gun and it have some decisions to make and i am asking for some advice.. the choices are:
Stevens (camo) 200 Bolt 243, 270, 30/06, 7mm08, or a Mossberg 535 camo 12 guage.

i already have a remington 30/06 and i love the remington 7mm08.. that is what i have been using since i was 12. and i just got a new remington 870 super mag a couple years ago..

im just wondering what everyone else thinks would be a better gun.. i do not have a 243 or a 270 in my collection.

Scince I like rifles, my opinion might be biased, but I'd take the rifle!

7mm-08 is one of the best over-all big game cartridges ever invented in my opinion.

If you can take somthing else or get credit or just sell and get yourself a rem Model 7 in 7mm/08 or go allthe way and get it in wsm

I would pick the 243......the 270 is just an '06 wannabe, the 7mm-08 is a step down but the 243 is a 6mm that is simply a devastating little Varmit rifle with the right bullet.....then you don't have to expend spensive bullets to kill critters....and in a pinch, the 95gr Nosler knocks deer in the dirt. Id take a 30-06 over 270 or 7mm-08 any day of the week. Thats my .02

I would take the 243 since it is a light recoil rifle and is the only one of the bunch that is really different from what you already have.

I'd take the .270. It's a nice flat shooting gun. If you think it may have to much kick, then shoot Remingtons Recoil Loads.

I should have read closer. My bad. I'd take the 243. If you have a 7mm-08 and an '06, why get a 270? :D

Good choice. Good cartridge spacing!

Since you already have the 30-06 and 7-08and the 12 gauge in models of your own choosing, thenmoving to the 243 and expanding the breadth and versatility of your rack of rifles is indeed the better move IMHO.

Now all you may need (or you may be "done" depending on where you are headed) is something down on the light varmit/practicing/plinking end like a 223 and something on the upper end like a 338OR 375 and you'll have something few folks ever put together, i.e.a handful of rifles that allow you the complete abilityto match the tool to any hunting mission in NA without compromise.
