Just Traded for a Stoeger Zephyr Uplander

Hey all,

I usually hang out in the Bowhunting forums, but started my hunting career with doves and pheasants and am an uplander at heart.

I just traded my Ruger P89 9mm handgun to a buddy of mine for a Stoeger Zephyr Uplander 12ga SxS Shotgun. Any of you know anything about this particular model? Most info I find is on the Uplander (not the Zephyr Uplander) and it is around $350-$500 in value. I did find a couple links thru Google on a 20ga and 28ga version that were up around $2500!!??!!! ..but nothing on the 12ga version. Any help? I need to give this back to my buddy if it is a high dollar shotgun (he also got it in trade years ago from someone else).

Thanks for your time!!

I've never heard of "zephyr", but a normal Stoeger Uplander 12g is usally around $250ish from what I have seen at gun shows....

One of my sources indicates that IGA is the current importer for these guns. It also says that the best info available is from the older Stoeger catalogs if it is an older model.. Stoeger Industries inc. was purchased by Beretta Holding of Italy in 2000, and is now a division of Benelli USA.
I have not been able to find any rference to a Zephyr model either, with the Uplander models being easy to run down. I personally own one in 28 ga. SxS, and is one of my favorite grouse guns.
I would be interested to know what you find out.

Thanks for the reply Matt and Pawildman, I appreciate it! I too, Matt, have found the same thing you have with a lot of uplanders being available at the same amount you listed +or- $100, with the only difference on my is that there is engraving and scroll-work on the action where it breaks open and it's silver instead of blued.

Pawildman, I also found the Benelli link w/ Stoeger while I was doing my research and found that really interesting. I am going to take it to a local shop and see what they can tell me.

I'll let you know what I find out.

OK, thanks all for your comments. I took the gun today to one of the better appraisers here in town and got an appraisal for $750-$800 (guess I got the better end of the deal, huh duckhunter669 )

Here is a link to a 28ga model of what I now own in a 12ga.

Thanks guys!!!

Wow !! Nice looking piece !! If it fits you and you can hit what you're looking at with it, I'd say you did O.K., if you are both satisfied with the deal, provided nothing is broken on it. Thanks for the update............

Thanks Pawildman - I am eager to go bust up some clays with it to see how it handles. The only thing I gotta keep telling myself is ..."don't rack the slide, DON'T rack the slide". 18 years w/ a 870 Wingmaster kinda gets some 2nd nature reactions going... LOL
