Marlin 336 RC ?

I recently bought a Marlin 336 RC in 30-30 at an auction. I can't find a serial number on the gun (receiver or barrel). Can anybody tell me where I should be looking?

Marlin's have their serial numbers on the top of the tang right where the top of the rear stock meets up.
