Berger VLD Bullets for Big Game

On Berger's new website, they are recomending their VLD bullets for deer and elk sized game.

Has anyone tried the 30 caliber VLD bullets on deer?

personally id be a bit skeptical. that would be like using a sierra matchking on a deer or elk.

There are some knowledgable people who swear by the Match King for game, like Steve Ricciardelli. I've never tried them for hunting, but those .308" 165-grain HPBT Sierras are excellent game bullets. They DO NOT come apart too soon (at .30/'06 velocities, anyway)!
