Whats a good affordable .243
 

I am looking for a good shooting .243 but don't have a lot of money to spend on one. What brnd do you reccomend tht isn't too expensive? Thanks a lot.

Take a look at the NEF Handy Rifle in 243, Not sure what the exact price is but know it is under $300. www.hr1871.com

I'll also give a nod to the NEF/H&R. A very nice rifle that shoots quite well. Also you can send your reciever back and for around $70 get a differn't barrel in a differn't caliber. For under $300 you can get one of thier nice laminated stocks and heavy barrel. For $185 you can order the plain jane black synthetic at wally world. Good luck to ya'.

Rossi also makes a model that comes with interchangable .243 and 12 gauge barrels for under $300.00

I have an H&R Ultra Varmint in 243 Win and it shoots great. It was about $245. If you want a bolt action then you can pick up a used Savage 110 for about the same price. Either one will do fine.

H&R rifle is a good bargain rifle that shoots very well...tough to find a used bolt gun for under 300 bucks but they are out there.

I own a .243 NEF handy rifle and i love it. I shoot left handed and i tried for several weeks to no avail to get several gun dealers to order a left handed bolt action rifle. I was looking at spending between $600 and $700 dollars for the gun i wanted. I was running out of time when one afternoon at wally world i noticed the NEF and thought what the heck!!! If i dont like it i will give it to a kid....well the kids ain't getting it.


p.s. the 151" 14 point in southeastern Okla never knew the 350 dollar difference!!!!

If you have the money go with the savage they shoot great i mean really great and there not expensive
