Remington model 750 autoloader

I just purchased the all new Remington model 750 autoloader deer rifle in a .270 caliber. For those of you wanting to know if it is more reliable than there older 7400 than I must tell you. Yes it isMUCH better. It is more accurate, more beautiful, as light, less recoil, and a quieter action while shooting. Awesome gun and I am glad that I saved the $200 that I was going to spend extra on a Browning BAR. I am not knocking the BAR because they are FANTASTIC guns, but for the money the Rem is great. If any of you have shot this new gun, know someone that has one,or own one yourself please leave mesome feedback. Thanks so much and God bless.

What chamberings is this new rifle offered in? In particular, will it be available in magnum chamberings as the Browning BAR is?

74, 740, 7400 problems usually come in after worn some. I am glad to see that there is a new model though, not a fan of Brownings.

it comes in a 308, 308 carbine, 30.06, 30-06 carbine, 270, 35 whalen carbine. I am not sure about the 243 ...

I have a 270 7400 and it shoots great ..I have only put about 300 rounds through it

Why can't Remington build a semi-automatic hunting rifle in magnum chamberings? Browning offers its BAR in a number of magnum chamberings and Benelli recently introduced a semi-automatic rifle in 300 Win. Mag so it would appear that it is technically possible. It makes me wonder who new the 750 really is. I would have hoped if they had started with a clean sheet of paper when designing it they could have built an action that was stronger than the 7400 and that could handle magnum cartridges.

I was wondering the same thing. Maybe it will take away from some of the other rifle sales. I am sure if other manufactueres start doing they will follow

Until reading jbirds post the'press' on the new 750 was split. One guy was thrilled with his 750 rifle in .308, but another guy said he was sorry he ever bought his. So I guess it still too early to make a judgement either way.

My personal experience with Rem. semi-auto's over the years has been very good. I've hadthree 742's, which never jammed even once, and a Model 4. And I just picked up a BAR .308 carbine with synthetic stock.
