BSA scopes please help?

I am looking into buying a BSA scope at Walmart for 78$. Iam not sure but I think it is a 2.5-12power by 50mm. Is BSA a reputable scope? And should I go with a 40mm or 50mm for deerhuntin? For this price range would you reccomend something else, bushnel, simmon or should I stick to the BSA. I would really like to buy a Redfield or Leoupold but cant spend much more than 80$. Could you please help me.

If it were me,I would go with a Bushnell 3x9 with a 40mm objective for deer hunting. I haven't heard too many good reports on the BSA's...<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

I would definitely stay away from BSA's. I bought a couple last year for 22 use. Neither would hold zero, and both had a sort of &quot;walleye vision&quot; effect. If you're looking to get a scope for less, go with the Bushnell or even a Cabelas model.

Good luck!

Don't waste your money. That's exactly what you'll be doing if you buy a BSA scope. If you buy A BSA you'll be unhappy with it and you'll be having to upgrade and the BSA will be worth zipp as a trade in or re-sale. Beg, borrow or steal (just kidding) the difference to buy something half decent or hold off on your purchase until you do have the extra $$. I agree with the previous 2 posters, Bushnel would be a much better choice. gg.

My brother just got a bushnell trophy for Midwayusa.com for $75, it sells for $100 everywhere else. It is a great scope, I'd suggest one to anyone.

Matthews,
BSA= Been Screwed Again
Save your money and buy a real scope, you will not regret it.
