Default chokes vs. shot #?

Hi,Is there a big difference in patrens if i just used different shot number, i.e. #4 ,#6 ,#9.compare to a patren from different chokes shoting say #6 ?

you generally won't see to much differance in your normal hunting shot sizes say #4-#9 you may when you get into you big shot sizes like BB or the like commonly used on geese. you will see a change from lead to steel as well. now saying you won't see much difference doesn't mean there is no difference. Remember the bigger the shot the less you have in the pattern so you will see some change but as long as it hits what you shoot at no trouble
