Charles Daly Maxi-Mag Semi-Auto?

Hey hunting people,

Wondering if any of you have ever shot, owned or hunted with a charles daly 3.5 inch Maxi-Mag semi-auto. I've found them for only 370.00 at bearmountainsports.com. Any input on this gun would help alot.

RE: Charles Daly Maxi-Mag Semi-Auto?

I know several freinds that have had them ( 3 )
All 3 have some type of cycling problems .
2 just needed to be cleaned and lubed ( came from the factory dry)they works fine now .
Except for some Remington loads .
Remington has several different hull lengths .
1 is 3.4"+ and it causes problems ( after firing )
That hull will not feed all the time and it will hang up on ejecting part of the time .

The last one was cleaned , lubed and still was notmore than 80% relilable with any loads .
It has been back to CD at least 2 times .
It had several problems and the owner sold it

IMO the Remington SPR 453is a better 3.5" auto loader

Or it was called the 153 Baliki before Remington imported it .

I have one .
Works great
