NEED HELP FAST!!!

I was shooting my .300 win mag and I have it shooting right were I want it to... but then my friend tried shooting from the same rest and shot high and to the left both times... Then I shot again to make sure it wasnt the gun and hit exactly were I aimed.

I was wondering if our height diffrences is the problem Iam 6'4" and he is 5'10" or so...

180 grain Hornady spire points. was the load.

Thanks for your help.

You guys are each taking a different sight picture... thats why it is so important to sight your gun in yourself, because you never know what the difference will be between people

Sounds like a parrallax scope issue. and possible flinch issue. Just has to do with the way he cheeks the gun compared to you.

With a scope and proper shooting form, this is not normal. It sounds like one of you has a flinch,or a problem with his shooting form.

I have noticed this as well over the years - and it really doesn't make sense. If the scope is parrallax free, the cross hairs should be on the same spot regardless of who is looking through the glass. If I clamped a scope in a vise and had it pointed at a spot on a wall 100 yards away, I would expect the crosshairs to be on that spot regardless of who was looking through the scope?? Or do folks really see thing differently from other folks?

I have seen the same thing with even my .223. My friend couldn't hit **** with it while I could drive tacks. Shouldn't be a flinching issue there, so who knows.

If both his shots hit the same place it is probaly not flinch (unless he can flinch the same every time) It is more likely his cheek well is different then yours. I have seen alot of guys able to shoot the same rifle with out any trouble then there will be someone come along and totally ruin the whole thing. It is almost always a cheek well issue. Check his trigger pull, it should be like clicking a ball point pen. I sometimes take one with me to show them how it works. Practice yourself if you need to it wont hurt anythingYour shells have nothing to do with it.

Several things come to mind for me....... The first being a parallex problem. Another would be the way the gun is being placed on the rest. Is he placing it exactly as you did? Is the forearm in the same spot on the bags? the other thing is the difference in the way the two of you snuggle into it on the bench. Gotta be some differences here, I would think.
