I don't have any need for a new rifle. Might take the money and buya top of the line spotting scope. I would would definitly be bringing my Remington 700 CDL in .35 Whelen. It has a 3x9 Nikon Monarch on top of it.

I'd decline the generous offer of a new rifle and I'd take my .270 Classic Sporter I, Model 70.. 140 grain TSX.

I already hunt in grizzly country on the eastern slopes and during bow season I carry 6 arrows (5 125 First Cuts & 1 Judo) and a can of bear spray. During rifle seasonI take my 'bone crusher'*

*Anything's a bone crusher with TSX bullets even my sweet lady gun, (.270)......

While my 7 mag would work just finefor the swamp donkey's,I'd opt for a 338wmon the account of a possible griz encounter. Load it with a TSX and nevber give it another thought!!!

Yes I do moose hunt and I would take my Remington Modle 700 BDL in my .300 Win Mag... I live in BC and have seen people take Grizzly with .300 win mags before.

Yep, grew up in BC and hunted moose almost every year. Used to use my .308 and still do if I'm stalking through swamps and muskeg after them. In our party there was another .308, 2 30/06's, 1 7mm Rem mag and a 300 win mag. When I moved to Alberta where hunting moose with a rifle is primarily a draw I switched to hunting them with my bow, but also picked up a .325WSM to compliment the 270WSM I have in the same rifle I use for hunting WT'S over crop land. This way I'm covered for everything. That being said at work when moose wander into town and sometimes start causing a lot of grief I will stand by with my .308 until the Fish and Wildlife boys show up to deal with it.

How long does it take a critter that size to drop when hit by a 30 cal? I read somewhere they take 2 minutes to bleed out, no matter how many times you shoot em. But I can't recall who said that. Big varmints.
