Range Report- 6.5-284
Shot my 6.5 this weekend. I'm still breaking in the barrel so I only got to shoot two 3 shot groups. First group was in the 1/2 inch range. second group spread a little to the 3/4 inch range. I'm shooting 140 gr. sierra's over H4831sc powder. Bullets .010" jump into lands, powder charges where 49.5 and 50 grains. Its too soon to make any conclusions but I have a gut feeling that its going to really shoot when I get the load developed.

RE: Range Report- 6.5-284
Great news Shato. I would do two things. First, try the IMR 4831 powder and the new 130 grain Sirocco bullet. I am currently using this load in my 6.5-'06AI and it is sensational......not that 1/2 inch groups are bad!!! I got 30 to 50 '/sec faster speed with the IMR and no degredation in groups. You have what is probably the finest 300 yard deer rifle in the world......you can make it a 400 yarder with the Sirocco bullet with a BC of .571.....yes .571. Low recoil, near Magnum performance, low cost....what more could you ask for. Pic of my group attached. Regards, Rick.

Yes that 6.5-284 sounds like a sweet round for hunting. Good luck...
