best .22?
who do you think makes the best all around .22?

RE: best .22?
If you are talking about a .22 mag I like Marlin the best just my 2 cents

RE: best .22?
Cooper? great rifle but maybe you are asking about a pistol. High Standard made a very nice 22 pistol but I would stay away from the ones made in Texas.
If you are talking about a 22 semi-auto rifle the Ruger 10/22 is hard to beat plus you can get aftermatker goodies for it and take the $200 rifle past $800 if you decide a trick rifle is for you. My point is there are many rifles and pistols in 22lr that are very nice. Why limit yourself to one?? ![]() ![]() maybe you wanted to see pistols ![]() |
RE: best .22?
normaly I would ask what you want it for but you said all around for a rifle I do not think there is much contention about the rugar 10/22 as for a pistol i like the mark II government

RE: best .22?
The 10/22 is no doubt a great rifle, and I don't think you can't go wrong with it.
Recently, I picked up a Marlin 39A. While it is expensive, I am in love with it. I just love lever guns, and the fact that it shots shorts as well is really cool. It is definetly an adult's .22. |
RE: best .22?
In general?
Any rifle, overall the Ruger 10/22, But since I can't use a semi for hunting then I'd say my old Remington 581(?) For pistol, hands down my S&W model 46, Millitary Small Bore target Issue, IF you can find one. (mine was my father's from when he was on the local USNR's team) |
RE: best .22?
For rimfire rifles, I'd say Marlin. They will shoot with the high-end rifles for 1/10th the price.

RE: best .22?
I’d have to stick with Browning’sBuck Mark pistols. I own the Silhouette and the Plus Nickel. They are both very fun to shoot, and can go through plenty of .22 ammo at the range. Both guns are very easy to take apart and clean.
