From everything I have read I would go with the 535. I don't know much about the CD pump guns, but from what I can gather the autos are sort of hit and miss, but for that price it should be expected. And I don't see where the CD offers a 3 1/2 inch mag gun like the 535.

Personally I wouldn't mess with the 3 1/2 mag, just get a mossberg 500 or 870 express in 3 inch mag. Or if you want to go cheap and don't mind an import look at the NEF pardner pump. I own one and it was under 200 bucks and has really nice walnut on it with pretty good over all fit and finnish. It is simular to a 870 in design, but takes mossberg/invector chokes. It is made in china though if that is an issue with you.

If you are looking at a 3 1/2 inch gun for turkey I would take a serious look at the mossberg 835 with the backbored barrels. Excellent turkey guns from what I hear. However my NEF pump with a super full choke is pretty impressive. Prettly long though;).

I don't know about CD's pump guns, but I have one of their field grade autos. It had a weak spring for the hammer, but it only took 1 call to them and they sent a call tag that afternoon to send it back to the factory. They had it about 3 weeks and when I got it back, it worked like it was supposed to.

I think I paid $320 with tax for it and other than the weak spring which caused it to dis-like Remington ammo, it's been pretty good. I can't bring myself to spend a lot of money on a gun that's going to be drug through swamps, sand, and God knows what. As long as it works(or has a good warranty), I'm a happy man.

BTW, CD shotguns have a lifetime repair gauranty on them.

Charles Daly has a lifetime warranty and they pickup the gun and return it on their dime. I wouldn't own a Mossberg shotgun if my life depended on it. Good Luck
