My limit is $200-250. So where can i get a well priced scope over the internet? I was wondering if the pentax scopes are any good? They make good camera lenses. How aout the nikon? I am leaning towards Bushnell but i donīt understand the quality between the models. All advise is welcome. thank you guys.

Icelander, as Stubblejumper suggested the Bushnell 3200 Elite is a great scope & probably the best in it's porice range. I own a Bushnell 3200 Elite 3x9x40 and a 4200 Elite 3x9x50, they have been and continue to be great scopes. The 3200 is pretty hard to beat for it's price range and is available in a 50mm if you require or want. As I stated I love 50MM in fact my 3200 is rarely used, due to the 40mm objective. Now for those who never used 50mm then the 40MM 3200 will be all you'll ever need. The 3200 fits in your price range and personally would be as low as I would go with bushnell. All though I know many satisfied custmers with banner, trophy and elite's so it really depends on your wants.

Nikon, I can't personally comment on, this sight I have heard and seen many happy customers with Nikon. Pentax Scopes don't know, I do have their binos and they have a great CS department, quick and fast.

I would probably stick with Bushnell or Nikon. does Nikon have a lifetime warranty, b/c Bushnell does? That might help in your decision.

4200 is the top of the line Bushnell scope, it is multicoated on all lens, states 95% light transmission so brighter, clearer than the 3200. It is tested to 10000 blow from 375HH. Cost about 200 bucks more. The 3200, is exterior lens multicoated, in the 90% range for light transmission and tested to 1000 blow from a 375HH. About 200 less.

Since I have both I can tell you their is a difference between the 4200 and the 3200 in brightness. My 4200 tracks true, where my 3200 doesn't always do so. Other than the price not much else, you'll notice. Eye relief is the same, both one piece tubes, both have raingaurd now, both have a wide variety of objectives and power selections. Honestly I would opt for the 3200. If I was looking at the 4200 I would buy, burris, leupold, nikon monarch, zeiss conquest to name a few. The 4200 is nice, but I would opt for some of the higher end scopes in that range.

I bought my 4200 at a sale, so it cost me the same as 3200 regular price then. I now use the 4200 on my ML, which is overkill, but got to use it, the wife might ask questions...hehe.

How about Burris? Are they any good? If i would buy a 4-12x50 how long is the shhoting distance on that? i know i said 350 yards in the biggining but it could be longer.

Shooting distance is not determined by the scope but by your skill and the accuracy of the rifle/load combination.I only use a 3x10x42 scope and have taken several animals in excess of 400 yards.

I notice that no one has mentioned Swift? All my buds swear by them, and they are inexpensive. I think I priced a 3-9 x 40 at 100 bux (list 140 on the site) Over the counter warranty too

I've used Swift optics for birding for years and love them. Very bright, wide field of view and well made. In birding circles they are very well reguarded even when compared to Zeiss, Leica and Swarovski. In my one experience with customer service everything was handled quickly and efficiently. I will be putting their 3-9x40 on my new 7mm-08 when I buy it. I expect it will perform at least as well as a Leupold (at half the price) and much better than Tasco, Redfield, et al. In my experience Swift is like drinking champagne at a Budweiser price.
