RE: Opinions on Stoeger

I have one I bought to shoot crows with. It has only done one thing. The first round I put in the Chamber released the slide. It discharged. After I regained my composure and checked my shorts. I could not dupilicate it. Itried 20-25 times never would do it again. I am going to send back and have them double check it.(Perfect reason why gun saftery is important)I have had no other issues. I sure shoots faster than my 1100. I just could not justify spending 1000.00 to shoot black bandits with. I shoot notro 27 # 8 sprting claqy rounds it with imp cyl wacks them pretty good.....

RE: Opinions on Stoeger

and I can do twice as good a job cleaning my stoeger in half the time as you can ANY gas operated system.
You must not have ever cleaned a gas gun like the Beretta Xtrema, Franchi 600,700, or 900 series, or a Weatherby SAS. The Stoeger and Franchi I-12 may be the easiest to clean semi autos but no where near twice as fast.
The Stoeger and SBE II are not really that similar other than Beretta owns both and the are Inertia operated. The Stoeger is lighter in weight than the SBE's or even M1 and M2. The recoil spring is around the magazine tube on the Stoger unlike Benelli's stock mounted assembly. At almost 1/3 of the price of a Benelli they are a good gun for the money. Quality is not as high on the Stoeger as a Benelli, but again neither is the price.
