Woods hunters dream 7600.

I was shopping around today and came across a very nice 35 Remington 7600 Carbine. I guess this is the first one I have seen in the carbine and 35 Remington. I don't know how many of those that they made as I usually find them in 30-06 and a few 270's. This one has a Simmons Pro 50 2.8x10 scope on it. One little scratch on the reciever is the only mark I saw on it. I didn't buy it YET. Just thinking.

If I am lucky, I won't live long enough to wait them out.:DThis one has to be pretty rare as I have never seen one until today. I may be safe as its 100 miles away and I have to work tomorrow.

This working is the pits after being retired for six years. Every Monday morning, I remember why I retired.:D

Not sure how rare they are. One of the local shops had 4-5 in both synthetic and walnut. Nice rifles wish I had picked one up.

Very nice woods rifle. Seems to be over scoped.

actually James, I checked on Gunbroker and found three 35 remingtons and one 35 Whelen, and all were carbines. I didnt see any that were full sized.

According to the Remington site and another site I chaecked on, the 35 Remington carbine in 7600, were only made as a limited run for Grice Wholesale. They have Birch stocks. The 35 Remington was chambered in several variations in the 760 and the one before that. I think it was first chambered in 1906 in a Remington Semi auto.

The scope is certainly more powerful than needed although its so clear thats its scary. You could sure see any twigs and stuff that might be in the way. I may have to pick it up, It has Black Bear written all ovet it:D. My favorite species to hunt.

I live near Grice gun shop and they had a special run in .35 rem and .35 wheelen in the 7600 and 700 cdl.The whelens go fast but the .35 rems can be picked up cheap. The whelen would be a great bear gun but the .35 rem is obsolete and not even close to ideal bear medicine, not saying they won't kill one however. You'd be lucky to break 2000 fps with the 181/2 inch barrel and 200 gr bullets.I started off hunting deer with a .35 rem and it would be one of my last choices for bear. It's too bad they won'thave a run made in .358 winchester instead of the .35 rem.

I am down in Australia and I see Rem 7600s advertized in the hunting mags in .35 whelan which I thought they were not making any more in N.A. Also they have a carbine called a "patrol rifle" in .308
And a carbine model 7615 pump in .223 with a 10 shot clip. Might be a fun gun for calling varmints and shooting fast and furious at close range multiple coyotes.

Thats ok, I am Obsolete as well. Funny how things that killed things long ago will no longer do so;)I shot a Bull elk at 125 yards with the 14 inch T/C contender in 35 Remington. He went down like a bag of bricks andnever quivvered. It gets 2200 fps with the 180 grain bullet from the contender. It will do 2000 with the 220 grain from a 18.5-20 inch barrel. I have seen quite a few moose taken at woods ranges with the 35 Remington as well. Its made to be a 150 yard on in gun and at that, it does very well. Newer won't kill any deader. Its been a popular woods cartridge for almost a 100 years. The pump is also noy limited to round nose and flat nose bullets.
